You will find in this archive three files:

readme.txt   <----the file you are reading now (doc written by Martin Pugh)
mamerain.c   <----the C source code (DJGPP)
mamerain.exe <----the binary file (DOS)


This program is a beta version which should be OK but you use it at your own risk. This program will convert cheats from a selected MAME RC1/2 cheat.dat file into Raine's cheat file. You should note however that any cheats other than type 000 will not work in Raine!

USAGE
=====

You should backup all cheat database files before continuing.

Just copy the mamerain.exe file into the same directory as Raine's cheat.cfg file. As an example on the usage, you can add the MAME cheats for the classic Rainbow Islands game to Raine's cheat.cfg file by typing something along these lines:-

mamerain c:\mame\cheat.dat rainbow

This will extract the cheats from the MAME cheat file and put them in Raine's. As mentioned before this will extract all cheats including type 000, but only type 000 will work. Personally I would create another cheat file first, Manually cut and paste type 000 cheats only to it and use it instead of the full MAME cheat file with the mamerain program.
